On a wintry Thursday night, I accompanied a guest on a tour of the Yeshiva. As we entered the gleaming Beis Medresh, humming with the energy of students and Rebbeim deep in focused dialogue, we both experienced a joy similar to the feeling of arriving at a long awaited destination. We had collectively dreamed of a Yeshiva where students would be excited to learn with one another supported by Rabbeim at their side, each student feeling that he belonged. We were witnessing this dream alive in front of our eyes.
This destination extends beyond the new beautiful structure at 325 Reservoir Rd. It encompasses our guiding mission, expert faculty, and diverse student body. After eight years of growth and momentum, Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael has not only “arrived”, we continue our journey stronger than ever.
One need only to observe our graduates in order to understand why this school is such a valuable asset to the community. YOY alumni attend some of the best yeshivas in Eretz Yisrael and America, as well as in top university honors programs working toward their goals. YOY’s newest alumni are preparing for a year of yeshiva study ahead in which they can continue their learning and growth. Many have already been accepted into their future university programs, well prepared with the AP credits earned at YOY. Our young men are each on the path they have chosen for themselves, aligned with their interests and their individual goals.
We are so grateful for the Yeshiva’s growth and expansion over the years, both the building and the educational program. We are proud of where we find ourselves today, ready to continue the next year of Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael’s exciting journey.
